Sometimes it’s crazy how love becomes, sometimes you loose your partner and it seems the world is crushing down on you but then their memories won’t even let you be and a part of you still hopes you get them back and you don’t even know how to explain your situation…..well i have ACTVE CAPTVE’s latest single, “Safe N Sound” here and this electrifying single talks about love, loss and hope. What’s beautiful about ACTVE CAPTVE is their ability to blend genres and create a unique sound that gets listeners entertained and refreshed. The song which is part of their debut EP “Saudaze” doesn’t just challenge music boundaries but rather breaks them and goes beyond.
As soon as you hit the play button, you just realize “Safe N Sound” ain’t your regular typical song haha. The way it boldly explores musical boundaries with genres that you won’t even imagine is wholesome, it’s blends elements of disco, modern dance, and hard rock. Just picture Dua Lipa sharing the stage with System of a Down, all backed by the music brilliance reminiscent of Muse haha, oh oh I can see you’re already thirsty and getting itchy to vibe with this song. Wait wait wait, it’s not just about the fusion though but the emotional depth the song carries is also just awesome. According to Justin, the band’s leader, he says this is a soul stirring masterpiece that was created to invite listeners into his own world of contemplation. Thus talking about the emotional journey the song takes you through the complex nature of love, loss and hope through time.
Now the lyrics of the song captures a journey through the complexities of love, which explores topics of escape, loss, and resilience. With lines like “cut and run, float out to sea” evoking a sense of a desire to break free from a challenging phase. As the lyrics unfolds, you feel how sometimes we get sunk by love and have to swim our way through these struggles. It’s not an easy journey and this song captures this beautifully. But even though there may be challenges, misunderstandings and all one could think of in a relationship, we may still carry this hope that one day all will be over, that one day we will get the best out of our partner, that everything we’ve prayed and wished for will be found. I love that, that’s some creativity in there and this is a song you can’t miss for anything. It’s a must listen song that captures your attention from the very first beat drop. Moving on the song portrays this emotions of feeling lost and you searching for answers which lay emphasis on the lows and highs or romantic experiences. You don’t get these kinda songs anymore so when you chance on one milk the sh** dry hahaha. You can hear this repeated lines of finding everything in love, which suggests a longing for connection and a belief in its transformative power. To me this is a masterpiece that talks about how complex love can be and the vulnerability it comes with, with the littlest of hope.
What sets “Safe N Sound” apart is how different elements of music were fused together and yet doesn’t take away the listener but rather keep them hooked and glued while they enjoy something unique being on an emotional rollercoaster. It’s all down to ACTVE CAPTVE’s willingness to experiment and push boundaries. And to be honest they killed it, with the lyrics, beats and delivery, this is a 10/10 song.
