3 min read

Life is a beautiful thing that everyone ought to enjoy but sometimes what holds us back is our pasts, people and relationships. But what you need to know is your past is already gone, and that’s why Julo, the versatile pop singer-songwriter and producer from Brooklyn, NYC, comes in hot with a powerful message of self-worth, that asks you to let go off your past and embrace the present, in his latest track “Already Gone.” The song that brings this catchy melody with deep emotional lyrics is sure gonna strike your soul and propel you into the world of the singer. It’s a beautiful song that has inspiration from contemporary pop-punk influences such as Olivia Rodrigo and the Kid LAROI.

Julo, who’s known for playing keys and vocals with a classical piano background, comes into the pop-punk scenes with a unique flair. Now let’s see something amazing here, “Already Gone” was recorded from Julo’s home studio as a somber piano ballad, then it was later transformed into an uplifting rock banger with producer Dan Salazar. Even though Julo hasn’t really graced any notable gigs or festivals, but his journey comes with touring the NYC open mic circuit and even promoting his music through busking on the city’s streets, which attest to how dedicated he’s to his craft and how he wanna connect with listeners.

Someone may ask why the song “Already Gone”? Well this beautiful masterpiece is a song that talks about knowing your worth, not settling for less and having the guts to move on from toxic relationships and people. According to Julo, “I wanted ‘Already Gone’ to empower people to realize that there is growth in leaving behind people and relationships that pull you back.” And this is really evident with how he penned the lyrics with those beats. Man the song starts of beautifully with some cool key notes which connects with the beats and takes the whole song to a new level. Haha I love the way he sings and blends his vocals, giving the song this R&B vibes but with an infectious pop beats, coupled with some rock elements. The lyrics of the song lay emphasis on how difficult it is to leave that toxic relationship, the pain in leaving the person you loved behind you and prioritizing your happiness and self love.

This is what sometimes most of us can’t seem to let go, sometimes we feel we aren’t enough, trying Soo hard to see if we are the problem. But this song is asking us to move on, and let go off that relationship, that past holding us back and think highly of ourselves. If you don’t love yourself enough how can you love someone else? Yes sometimes you really wanna make it work and sometimes you think you can make it work, but trust me it’s better to leave than get hurt continuously. While enjoying the song, you can feel the emotional turmoil in the singer’s vocals, lyrics and the pain in letting go. Especially with these lines, “I wanna run in fucking circles, running away from all the shadows in my mind,” hinting at the emotional struggle with having to let go. Yes it’s difficult but know that you’re worth as much as the other. I love the vocal switches in the song, the beats are catchy and very enticing.

Personally from Julio, he say I should tell y’all; “You won’t regret spotlighting this empowering pop-punk inspired banger! ‘Already Gone’ is a song about recognizing your worth and shedding toxic relationships. It is a song about recognizing your worth and going for what you want.” And I wanna tell you “Already Gone”, is a unique and beautiful song that gets you hooked with it beautiful beats, then keeps you glued to it emotional lyrics and then elevate you to fight for better.
