3 min read

Music they say doesn’t know backgrounds and comes from different people, places and perspectives. Love can be cruel and sometimes the way society plays pivotal role in how someone’s love life is often overlooked but I have this New England artist, Matt McKnzi who has got this banger out titled “City People”. The song that talks about the society role in our love life is one that carries a deep message that resonates with everyone that listens to it. The singer-songwriter and producer who defies the conventional boundaries of music, with the way he blends pop, soul, and alternative R&B brings this unique vocal style influenced by hip-hop, jazz, and rock to tue musical scenes that is sure to sweep listener’s off their feet. Haha I can see you’re already getting your seatbelt on for this beautiful emotional ride.

McKnzi in his latest track, “City People,” which is featured on his debut EP “Ghost,” he demonstrates his versatility by blending bass, electric guitar, and piano into this dynamic melody which actually complements his vocal range and overall performance. The song though lay emphasis on dramatic relationships, the complexities and how the society plays it impact when one is wanting to know someone intimately. Life can be cruel especially when it comes to relationships, when you’re busy trying to love someone then there’s someone somewhere gossiping and being envious of you, who in the end just wanna destroy the beautiful relationship you have.

Well this is something that has been the trend these days. But what McKnzi did was creating a beautiful song that captures the essence of envy, societal influences on our intimate relationships. What’s beautiful about this track is the energy and emotional truths surrounding desires and judgement with catchy beats and delivery. “City People” reveals how carefully McKnzi crafted this masterpiece with the way he infused those interplay between bass, electric guitar, and piano creating a rich musical melody that takes the listener by surprise and keep them glued and entertained throughout. McKnzi’s vocals also adds depth and projects this vulnerability to the narrative, like the way he sings, you can feel his emotions and feels in the song, creating a musical experience the listener has never experienced. He is a master of storytelling wow, the way he does it is unmatched and I’m overly impressed. Bravo Matt.

Well “City People” ain’t just any song but a lyrical masterpiece that paints a clear picture of the impact of listening to external people and how bad it can affect your beautiful relationship. It’s a beautiful song, the pen game is elite and relatable AF, the beats are splendid and matched with a top notch delivery, so why don’t you go ahead and give this song a maad listen and have a taste of how good music tastes like. ENJOY!! Well if you haven’t listened to whole EP then you’re missing a lot haha. Make sure to check him out on the links below for more;
