Guys!! Have you had an EP where each song on there is pure flames and you can’t skip any of them. Haha my goodness see sometimes you need to broaden your music taste and feel the magic from others too, not these mainstream acts who keeps dropping junks. See I’ve got this Manchester-based DJ producer Nickon Faith here, who’s got an EP made for us to enjoy and I must say, the moment you hit on that play button, there’s no going back. This EP just brings the heat to music scenes, especially the electronic music scene. And one thing is, it’s a freaking debut release, oh my my my, what do I always tell you guys about debuts? He called this one “Signs” EP. The EP was released on Mess Express Records, founded by Richie Blacker. Now this 5-track EP just goes on to show Nickon Faith’s versatility and artistry, demonstrating a unique and different display of sounds and styles that effortlessly blend elements of trance and breakbeat. So trust me when I say this sh** is lit, cos you’re in for a feast you never gonna forget in your lifetime. So get on your seatbelt for this rollercoaster ride and let’s go.
Setting the stage for the EP is the self titled track “Signs”. This song kicks off straight up to action with it’s pulsating vibrant beats which draws you closer to song, then this soothing vocals of Manchester’s own rising star, Axelle sweeps you away into an under the lights disco night atmosphere where you dance your feet off. What I love about this track is it’s ability to intoxicate you with its spirited feeling, especially with those bouncy trance melodies, and soulful vocals. Then you have Nickon Faith’s awesome production creating an emotive and immersive experience that pulls you into his musical world. Crazy crazy feeling, and I freaking love it 🔥.
Keeping up with this emotional journey on the EP is another track dubbed, “Love”. A song that transport listeners to this beautiful exciting dream one does not wanna wake up from. What’s crazy about this song is it’s bouncy breakbeats and hazy, nostalgic melodies. Just when you thought you’ve heard it all, the this orgasmic vocal pops in here and there with those soft acid synths adding extra layer of depth to its creativity and fueling the flow and energy pulsating throughout the listener’s body. See nothing beats this, and you can’t even stop listening to it, it’s addictive and makes you feel like you’re dreaming and enjoying something great you’ve always wanted.
Then the EP takes a sweet shift with this track “Nothing State”. As soon as this track pops up, it brings in different vibe and energy, with this track taking a more groovier turn, and bringing in faster tempo and thumping four-to-the-floor kick. Something you don’t wanna miss guys, see I been jamming to this beauty whole day and one may think I’m going crazy hahaha. With all this fast tempo beats, the track maintains it’s rich layers and exciting melodies. I love how Nickon Faith infuses the track with a driving beat, increasing its danceability and setting the stage for a happy club moments. One you don’t wanna miss, it’s like when the show is about to be over and everyone’s heading out, then the DJ puts on this crazy fast tempo groove and everyone’s back on the dancefloor shaking their head and feets off.
Then you have this track “Fragments” slowing down the pace, giving a space for listeners to connect deeply with its breakbeat melodies. This track just asks you to cool down for there’s gonna be another fireworks, so relax and make all your sweet seductive moves on the dancefloor, just let it go and let it flow. Wow, beautiful beautiful creativity and arrangements.
And just when you’ve cooled off, the EP brings you up to give it a last shot with “Forever (I Want You).” This track just takes you to where it began with its anthemic trance euphoria. Bringing back the energy and electrifying listeners to embrace the vibe and take one last shot.
