The society these days has really created another society inside our society where they control what people do and has done well to make people think yeah, if you don’t achieve this state, you’ve failed as an individual. Instead of allowing people to be who they wanna be and encourage them to accept themselves and push them to be good and live life the way they want it. Especially women, the society has really created and pushed women into a tight corner where it’s rather destroying them than making them. And this is what ma man here Gary Dranow, along with The Manic Emotions, has for us in their single dubbed “Bodywise.” A thrilling song that explores the societal pressures placed upon young women. And the moment you hit that play button, you realize how the band has evolved with their signature style of infusing Pop Rock and storytelling into a masterpiece, while asking us all to jump on this journey of self-discovery and empowerment.

As we already know the band consist of talented artists from Park City, Utah, Melbourne, Australia, and Ukraine. And on this track Gary Dranow and The Manic Emotions does give us a powerful message through “Bodywise.” One may ask but why this song, well from their own personal experiences and cultural observations, they thought oh why not let the world know the challenges faced by young women as they move through societal expectations and cultural stereotypes and the results? This body of class music, infused with different genres to give you the feel of how young women from different places experience the same thing irrespective of culture or country. Now this song “Bodywise” becomes a touching reflection of the band’s journey, laying emphasis on how the human spirit overcomes struggles and challenges. The song starts beautifully with some guitars strings and beautiful calm drums that gives off this country vibes blended with pop and rock elements.

Then those soothing vocals comes in raw and deliver an emotionally filled lyrics that allows listeners to explore the complexities of self-identity and societal norms, and becoming a rallying cry for authenticity and self-acceptance. The song is asking you to break free from expectations and free yourself from all types stuffs that binds you. Stand up to your oppressor, when they’ve gone all the extra mile just to bind you, never let them devour you and lower you. Don’t be limited to what society demand of you, but rather dream, let the girl child dream and let her do whatever she wanna do. The song is emotional and those country afternoon vibes really does justice to the song and gives it the feel it supposed to have on it listeners.
